You were called Star for a reason, Rock Star | 2023 08 10

It is currently the most popular movie in cinemas around the world, and it is about a doll living in her own perfect world.
She sees herself forced leave it, to correct things in the real world.
Things that were interfering with what she saw as her perfect life.

Close to the end of the movie, you will see Barbie realizing she is not a real person but an idea.
Which is why she has eternal life, infinite endings and infinite possibilities.

“While humans have only one ending,” she is informed by someone who wants her to stay grounded, in a moment where Barbie gives her imagination free rein in all she could do and be as a human.

What stood out most for me, out of all the reasons Barbie said had her leaning towards wanting a real life, was when she said she wanted to be the creator.
Not the created.

Barbie wanted to create, and she knew that in order to do that, she would have to leave Barbieland.
And for good this time, not just to repair a rip in the curtain between the two worlds.

But the human world is also the world of having a limited life span, and seemingly unlimited emotions, chaos and change.
Something that is also pointed out to her.

And in this metaphor I pondered a bit, over where Rock Stars fit in.

Are we living in an “idea”-lized world, by the grace of those who believe in us and project their dreams and desires onto us?
In whatever profession we may be rocking, because we’re not all musicians.
The answer is:
Yes.
There is definitely a part of us, and it may not be as small, humble, and altruistic as we would like it to be, that only comes to life the moment others “use” us, to step into their highest power.
Like girls use the Doctor-Barbie or Pilot Barbie to step into their power.

But having said that, are we not also the creators of our own universe?
Unlike Barbie, are we not both the Mattel of our Rock Star Life, as well as the Barbie who then plays in it?
Undoubtedly;
Yes.
At least we are, if all goes well.

And if it doesn’t, if our autonomy and our creator-ship is not included in the deal, we end up like anyone famous and rich who doesn’t have agency over their own work;
Drugging ourselves one way or the other.
It can even have the form of working really hard, and fully identifying us with the very identity that took our true selves away.
Simply because we do not have a life left, to return to.

A Rock Star is someone who gambles big, on being their most autonomous self, and allowing their message of freedom to fully express;
But whom in doing so runs the same risk as Barbie does, which is to be run by corporations and by people who project not just their biggest dreams but also their frustrations, onto you.

Barbie does not just understand the power of being a creator;
She also understands that she does not have any say in whether people project their biggest dreams or their biggest frustrations onto her.

All Barbies in Barbieland are just one rough play session away from being turned into “weird Barbie” with cut hair and marker all over her face.

Rock Stars, like all inspirators and influencers and anyone visible in the media, must learn to navigate the forces that come at us, when things get rough.
And here is a truth the movie does not even get close to addressing;
None of us can go out and repair every rip in the curtain, nor can we really do something about incidents where people projecting their frustrations onto us, any more than Weird Barbie could.
“It’s okay I own it,” Weird Barbie says, when President Barbie apologizes for having called her Weird Barbie.

Owning it, is largely all we can do if things between us and those loving our work, and rooting for us, have gone wrong.
And ditto when things between us and those hating us and wanting to see us fail, have escalated.

Rock Stars are in many ways just as vulnerable as a Barbie doll.
And we do not even have a safe Barbieland/ Rock Star land to give us a moment’s rest and believe we can live “the best day of our lives every day”.
In a physical sense we are in the real world 24/7, without roller blading, taking the snow scooter, a camper van, a rocket and a pink Cadillac to take us to another dimension.

We live in the here and the now, and yet I am here to tell you;
No, you don’t.

And the reason you are unlike many if not most of the people you know;
Not even the same as those you may call peers;
Is because you know you are also, partially, idea

You know that before you became who you are, you created yourself in your mind. The “You” people think is you, was the you that was created by you.
Just like everything that was created by you, and that will be created by you, was created first in your head, with an idea.

And that is why not only would it be impossible to talk things through and concern yourself with, anyone having issues with you;
Not only would it feel like your soul was sucked right out of you, if you tried to explain yourself, make amends, try to level and be nice in order to be liked and the peace returning to your real-life world;
But it is also NOT where you are meant to be.

It is against God, if you ask me.

So if your once tiptoed feet are suddenly flat on the ground, put on some leather boots.
If you’re having irrepressible thoughts of death, welcome them with all your heart.
If your body starts showing signs of wear and tear, do not travel to another dimension to fix your thighs.

Stay put!
And this is where you go, Rock Star.

You go into the spiritual realm.
The dimension where all your dreams once started, and where all your new ideas will come from too.
Your body is in the real world, yes, but your spirit is not.
Nor should it ever be.

Because you were born on the earth, but you are not of the earth. And you never will be. If you have come this far in this blog post then know that no matter how many people played too rough with you, cut your hair, or burdened you with their irrepressible thoughts of death;
They say nothing about you.

And we need you to stay up there, with your mind in the stars.

Your job is not to come meet us over here, rolling through the mud of our emotions;
Your job is to get up as high as you can!!

And shine.

THE ROCK STAR

Which is a fully-confidential conversation based on equality, respect, and me being there with you at the beginning or, if so required;
At the end, of all things.

My setup is to have it be three hours:
-one for your earthly possessions, your business, your money. Anything you feel binds you to this world, or that you long to manifest in it, in the most tangible way.
-one hour for your art, your purpose, your calling, that what you know you are meant to do and be
and hour 3
– for your body, your energy, your creativity and sexuality in its fully expressed form.

Like a star in the night’s sky, a Rock Star leads the way.
To being free.
