With the SEASONAL take on SEXUALITY.
Because the videos in this series are so heavy, I will be making a Rock Star Take on Sexuality every season.
To try to keep things a tad lighter than usual!

2. The importance of sexual identity 01:17
Sexuality has the power to reveal where the electric fence of society is keeping you imprisoned, is keeping you small.

If your sexuality is different from the norm, then this process of individuation is engrained in the coming out itself. Often resulting in making bold decisions in other areas as well.
After you’ve freed yourself from societal expectations, a whole new world of options opens up.

But if we’re straight, it is tempting to stay under the radar, and avoid confrontation, which also leads to not owning other areas.

3. The electric fence of social conditioning 06:37
When you cross this invisible line, you set off a network of shame and repression which has been internalized by people.
The negative messages you receive, are actually people speaking a message that is not their own, as if their mind has been taken over.

Reference to the movie Fallen (1998) where a demon can take over people, hopping from one person to the next.

4. Why standing up for yourself is so scary 09:52
When it comes to sexuality, it takes tremendous courage to stand up for yourself, because you’re facing incredibly powerful forces.
And an enemy that you cannot see, because it’s one that has worked itself into the minds of well-meaning people.

5. Why standing up for yourself is so incredibly powerful 10:55
It shows you who you’re dealing with, and overcoming this strengthens you tremendously.

Showing up for yourself, and not avoiding difficult conversations where you hold your ground with regard to what it is you are comfortable sharing, and how you want to be treated-
that’s where the power lies.
