This week episode 8:
“Plan anything (better)”

The next CREATOR video with troll dolls will drop Monday 18 May 2026.

In CREATOR we make our art/content, but you can plan anything with this system.
The only rule for these videos is:
– no preparation
Because any process you don’t know by heart, belongs in the trash bin!

video recorded on Tuesday 14 April 2026

In this video;

1. Welcome to a new episode in the CREATOR series 00:00

Where we plan (boring! I know) in a better way.
And it’s an exciting day because I’m introducing new trolls today.

2. Why this system works so well 01:20
Although you wouldn’t say it, if you see me in action with a dollhouse and trolls, I am actually using an official system called SCRUM.
You can identify this system by its use of Sprints, time periods from 1 to 4 weeks.
SCRUM was created in the 90s to breakup software development into smaller time brackets, that always delivered something useful (an increment).

But the great thing about SCRUM is that you can’t just use it to make large projects more manageable into bite-sized pieces.
It’s also really useful to make small projects. like creating content, more structured and to step of the treadmill of creating on the fly!
(but you can still create on the fly – to which I will come back to later)

With SCRUM, represented here by a dollhouse and trolls, you can make big projects smaller and small projects more structured and deliberate.

3. Creating on the fly; but planned 06:50
Your production does not have to be knowing exactly what you want to create.
You can schedule pockets of time to create whatever you want.

SCRUM, because of its origin in software development, is traditionally tailored to making big projects smaller.
As an artist the way to apply this is to break up your big projects (f.e. a book) into bite-sized ones (weekly post).
But you can also use it to make small projects, like on-the-fly posting, bigger;
Into a strong creation/ production schedule.

4. How to plan your week 08:06
With the dollhouse (recap)
-ground floor: Infinite possibilities
-1st floor: Room of Ready- what you have selected to create this week
-2nd floor: Floor of doing, Everything that is in transit
-3rd floor: Dome of Done, Everything that is done
+ also 3rd floor Balcony: Everything that is both done, and also posted (delivered)

5. Introducing the FROCC Monster (a new troll) 10:13
FROCC stands for the values of SCRUM;
Focus, Respect, Openness, Courage and Commitment
I introduced the FROCC Monster as a reminder to stay in line with these.

I compare the FROCC Monster to the Tamagotchi, an electronic pet from the 90s.
Depending on how you take care of it, it grows up into something extraordinary or into a monster.
The FROCC Monster can only stay healthy if you feed it the 5 values on its list.

The FROCC Monster will be present in every video, similarly to the pink Scrum Master troll, who monitors the process and our weekly Review.

6. Introducing Technical Debt (new trolls) 15:15
Traditionally, Technical Debt means things you bypassed to deliver the product on time.

So for software this may the product may not be compatible with future elements.
But I also recognize another type of Technical Debt;
Resources are failing to take care of, which will ultimately undermine your production capacity.

When you see the pile of things that don’t get done rising, plan these 2 things:
1 – the big clean up for every area where you have Technical Debt (1 troll each)
2. – an improvement to your weekly planning system (1 smaller troll each)
To include the area where technical debt accumulated

7. Recap 23:39
This system is not limited to planning your content, or your production.
You can also include other work for example Technical Debt (=updating incomplete work, maintenance or work on your resources) and improvements on the planning system itself.
Include financial administration into weekly sprint
Can be a troll similarly to a piece of content that needs to be created, and with a troll on the first floor, as Ready to be taken into production.

Rock Star Take On AGENCY
| The New Rock Star Channel

The New Rock Star Channel is back!
With a new format:
– 10 minute video
– no preparation

This week, the twenty-ninth video.
A Rock Star Take On AGENCY

video recorded on Tuesday 7 April 2026

In this video;

1. We’re back! 00:00
With a new episode of a Rock Star Take on;
And today the topic is AGENCY

I didn’t have a new topic ready for you last time (the Charisma video), but said I’d put the new topic in the description box, and it became “Agency”.

2. Agency is our real/true desire 00:22
We have come a long way.
Because ten, twenty years ago, people didn’t “have” agency, although of course the word existed. Just like the word “ownership” which has a similar meaning.
But those words were not used, they didn’t hold any meaning.

But even nowadays, our desire for agency is usually hidden beneath other more tangible dreams and desires. But our desire to have agency underpins many of our desires!

We want “X” because we think/ assume, it will (finally!) give us a sense of agency.
We imagine ourselves doing “X” (yes), but we also imagine doing it our way!

If you want to do something your way, then you have to start leading with it being done “your way”. And not leading with you doing or aiming for “X”.

3. They are coming for your agency (always) 03:44
Agency is not given freely.
Every industry and all (life) situations, have rules but also unspoken agreements, all undermining your agency.

Regardless of what you’re up against, there’s almost always a way achieve the freedom of agency, but it takes work.
A lot, of work.

Focusing specifically on acquiring agency, does dramatically increase your chances of achieving it!

4. Holiday and next time 06:44
Rock Star Take is back in May 2026, and this seems the perfect moment for our spring episode of Rock Star Take on SEXUALITY.
Because May is the heart of Spring.

Up next, the Spring edition of a Rock Star Take On
SEXUALITY!

This week episode 7:
“your Mid-sprint review”

The next CREATOR series with troll dolls is Monday 20 April 2026.
The video ends with me warning I have a holiday coming up, and won’t be back until May, but I miscalculated!

In CREATOR we make our art/content, but you can plan anything with this system.

Welcome to The New Rock Star Channel.
We use the analogy of planning one week of a rock star tour, where the choice for different gigs symbolize the art your post on your social media.

The only rule for these videos is:
– no preparation
Because any process you don’t know by heart, belongs in the trash bin!

video recorded on Monday April 6 2026

In this video;

1. Welcome to a new episode in the CREATOR series 00:00

It’s Easter Monday in the Netherlands, which is a holiday in the Netherlands, and it seems like the perfect time to have a Mid-sprint review.
A sprint is a time-period between 1 and 4 weeks, in which you plan to get amount of work done.
This is a one-week sprint for a content creator, which is what we create in one week, so it’s a production schedule.
This dollhouse is my own personal sprint, which is always from Friday to Thursday.
And we’re taking a look at it mid-sprint, and see what the trolls are up to.

2. Setup of the house 02:24
The basement represents infinite possibilities, or everything you could pick but didn’t.
On the first floor are the Ready trolls: These are the pieces of content you have selected to create during this sprint.
The second floor contains everything that is still in transit/ you’re working on.
And the top floor everything that is done.
On the balcony is content that is both done, and also shared/ posted.

In my case, I’m halfway and a staggering number of trolls is still waiting, Ready to be created, except I didn’t do anything with them.

3. Acknowledging what you did do 07:07
If you spent your time doing other things, then acknowledge those.
If those projects do not have their own troll/ project card yet, make them and put them on the balcony.
So you make it visible what you did do, even when that is something unrelated to work.
Give yourself some love, for what you accomplished even if you did not plan for it.

4. Reprioritize 09:30
In the room of Ready, prioritize your remaining projects.
Usually by placing the content you need first, first in line.

For example: I’m shooting this video today, because I want to post it today.
And tomorrow I create what I want to post tomorrow.
Ordering the pieces in the order you will be needing them usually makes the most sense when you’re running late.

However, it’s quite possible prioritization alone is no longer enough, and you need to bring in bigger guns.

5. Solutions if you’re short on time 13:25
If your original content planning can no longer be achieved, you have several options.
5.1 – Maybe you can swap something?
If you have a piece of content later this week that is smaller, you could squeeze that one in today, and move today’s production to the later date.
5.2 – Cancel the content and then:
– don’t post at all
– replace it with an older repost in the same series (CREATOR formula/ portfolio)
– replace it with a fresh piece of content you create today, and whisk it up on the spot (MESSENGER formula)

Rock Star Take On CHARISMA
| The New Rock Star Channel

The New Rock Star Channel is back!
With a new format:
– 10 minute video
– no preparation

This week, the twenty-eighth video.
A Rock Star Take On CHARISMA

video recorded on Sunday 22 March 2026

In this video;

1. We’re back! 00:00
With a new episode of a Rock Star Take on;
And today the topic is CHARISMA

2. Underappreciated quality 00:35
Two decades ago, people kept referring to a certain man as being “charismatic”, when I was like:
“Why do they say that? The guy is obviously hot!”
Which was true, but!
Charisma, as it turns out, is what we say when someone is hot AND has power!

So I don’t know about you, but I’m hearing an endgame here.
Charisma is obviously worth acquiring!

3. Sexy/Hot + Agency = Charismatic 03:10

I don’t use the word “Agency” in the video, but that would be my choice of words, looking back.

Charisma means someone who can wield the power of attractiveness, and also has a purpose of what to do with it.
They have an agenda, that extends way beyond being liked or validated.
Charisma is a power that is actively wielded AND aimed.

4. Charisma is what makes the Rock Star 07:14
If we define being a Rock Star as being the face of an industry, the one who determines how it is, decides how something looks and how it will just be;
Then charisma is a key talent to achieve that.

5. Use your charisma 08:45
There is a story in the bible about not wasting your talents.
That if you have a talent, you’re supposed to use it, and not hoard it.
And you don’t have to use it for yourself;
You could apply your charisma for altruistic purposes that benefit others and not you.

There is definitely a case to be made that charisma not just comes with permission to use it; But a responsibility to do so.

🏎️🏁⏱️Just In Time | CREATOR series w. troll dolls (new video)

new video on YouTube:
click here to see it
-> https://youtu.be/rj6BguOIlwI

This week episode 6:
“🏎️🏁⏱️Just In Time”

In CREATOR we make our art/content, but you can plan anything with this system.

Welcome to The New Rock Star Channel.
We use the analogy of planning one week of a rock star tour, where the choice for different gigs symbolize the art your post on your social media.

The only rule for these videos is:
– no preparation
Because any process you don’t know by heart, belongs in the trash bin!

video recorded on Tuesday 17 March 2026

In this video;

1. Welcome to a new episode in the CREATOR series 00:00
And we’re turning up the heat, by adding some speed here!
With a more exciting way to plan:
Just In Time planning

2. The Safe Way To Plan 01:18
But before we get into the thrills of Just In Time planning;
Let’s first recap the more relaxed, spacious way to plan your production, which we also discussed in the previous videos.

The safe way to plan, is to separate creating content, from posting it, by one whole week.

What this means is:
– what you post, was content you created last week;
– what you create, is content that you post next week.

3. From being late to being just on time! 02:49
There may be things that won’t get done!
So you will start the week picking up the content which you did not finish in the previous week, because it just didn’t get done.

Which means your work for this week will not get done, and an even bigger chunk of this week’s work will be moved to the next.
And so on.

Until eventually all work is created in the week, or even on the day, it is also posted!

On a long enough timeline, all of creators will be creating Just In Time.

4. The spacious method is the way to start/ begin 05:12
Separating creating from posting, getting everything done in the previous week, allows you to get into the habit of creating content, and also gives you an understanding of the ins-and outs creating every pieces, and gets you to know your posting schedule intimately.

Start small with posting just one or two (pre-produced) pieces a week.
Let it grow to creating more pieces, having more posting days.
And ultimately, to creating the pieces closer to publication date (which will almost happen automatically).

5. Planning your week 07:28
Using the doll house, troll dolls and (laminated) cards that have your pieces of content on them.
(F.e. a card that says (create new) “Reel”)

You put the trolls/ pieces that you select to be created on the first floor, the room of Ready.
Move them through the doll house as you’re doing them.
And
Have them on the top floor (DONE) by the end of the week.

If you crate your pieces a week prior, all trolls are DONE, and in the Dome of Done (on the top floor)
If you create Just in Time, the pieces have been posted as well, and are on the balcony (on the top floor).

The difference between a Just in Time planning and a spacious, stress-free planning, is NOT in what you create!
You create the same.
The difference is in whether you have also shared it, or if this content is still waiting to be shared (next week).

6. Now with a Just in Time planning 13:58
Creating and posting all in one workflow, for one whole week.
The week starts will all pieces lined up (“Ready”) and at the end of the week, all content has been posted (balcony).

Introduction: Keeping pieces in transit
(will dedicate the next video to this – this is just an introduction)
Really big pieces of content can stay in transit, on the floor of Doing.
You can pick them up there next week.

Rock Star Take On (your) ART
| The New Rock Star Channel

The New Rock Star Channel is back!
With a new format:
– 10 minute video
– no preparation

This week, the twenty-seventh video.
A Rock Star Take On (your) ART

video recorded on Tuesday 10 March 2026

In this video;

1. We’re back! 00:00
With a new episode of a Rock Star Take on;
And today the topic is (your) ART.

More specifically why the art of (non-professional) creatives, is being seen as not of value.

After this video, you will understand the very clear and immediate reason for creativity being marginalized, instead of creativity being cheered on!

2. We Need Your Art 03:50
The work of creativity and art being important is being led by Amie McNee.
You can find her on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/inspiredtowrite/
And her highly recommended book is: We Need Your Art (2025)

3. What makes a mature healthy industries 06:00
Before I get into why creativity is not cheered on, I want to get into a little bit of exposition on why “even” from the big picture perspective of art in general;
It is so important to have creatives making their art.

A healthy industry, is a layered one, containing different elements :
A Rock Star level – the faces of the industry, the one everybody knows.
A professional level – a good working business model every professional has access to.
An education system – there needs to be a training for 15-25 y.o. to learn the craft
An amateur level – Aha! Here we have it.

An industry without “normal people” practicing its basics, is not a healthy one.

4. Why non-professional Art and creatives are not encouraged 10:30
It is because you’re not spending any money, so the system of capitalism does not benefit from your hobby. And because you’re not socially contributing.

Not in video but example:
When you go three times a week to your local gym, this is encouraged because:
-you are spending money. You’re contributing to your local economic system
-you are contributing to the social structures around you.
Whereas when you are at home making your art, you do neither.

5. Making art is rebellion 12:22
Being a creative is a very Rock Star thing to do because there is such an anarchistic free-spirited quality to it.

⌛️📈📋Do THIS, every Friday | CREATOR series w. troll dolls (new video)

new video on YouTube:

-> https://youtu.be/JQJk3_zTS98

This week episode 5:
“⌛️📈📋Do THIS, every Friday”

In CREATOR we make our art/content, but you can plan anything with this system.

Welcome to The New Rock Star Channel.
We use the analogy of planning one week of a rock star tour, where the choice for different gigs symbolize the art your post on your social media.

The only rule for these videos is:
– no preparation
Because any process you don’t know by heart, belongs in the trash bin!

video recorded on Monday 9 March 2026

In this video;

1. Welcome to a new episode in the CREATOR series 00:00
And fingers crossed it’s a one-taker!
Because this series always turns out to be far more complicated than I anticipate…

2. Types of planning 00:20
Content Planning?
Not quite!
Because as a creative your planning is different to the content planning of a business.

For you, improvement is not in a (better) Content Planning, but in your:
Production Planning.

I distinguish two types of creators:
the CREATOR
and
the MESSENGER
Both will be discussed in this video.

NEW 2026:
Want to work together on this?
The CREATOR and MESSENGER now have matching programs.
You can find them both here:
https://catacombenijmegen.com/current-offer/

Topics in this video:

– The Week Review (Do THIS, every Friday!)
What you could be doing every week.
The different elements are:
🥳 REVIEW
🧐 RETROSPECT
🦸🏻‍♂️SELECT
📆PLANNING

– The MESSENGER
Introduction to this different type of creator, who does not work with a content calendar and whose week review will also look different.

3. THE PREVIOUS WEEK (your recap) 05:20
🦸🏻‍♂️SELECT
Your week started with selecting what pieces you wanted to post this week.
Your ideal output.
💻🎸🎨🎬 CREATE
You’ve spent the week creating this.
But!
💡 You got a lot of ideas
And
💻🎸🎨🎬created two extra pieces

4. REVIEW 12:12
What you created
This is the first step, and name bearer of your Friday review

Q: What will you be reviewing?
A: The selection of:
– everything you posted last week (what’s “on the balcony”, our social media)
+
– everything you already created (it’s on the dollhouse topfloor in the Dome of Done), but will not be posted until next week.

The laminated cards I use under the trolls on the topfloor (balcony and Dome of Done), can be collected and provide an overview of everything that we created.

5. RETROSPECTIVE 15:33
This is not “What” you have created, but HOW you have created.

Anything:
– unexpected
– or that failed
– or that was a success
Can be learned from.
Every lesson improves your creative production process.

6. 🦸🏻‍♂️SELECT 18:22
The pieces you want in your content/ posting calendar.

This is also the point where you may consider coming up with a recipe;
So instead of inventing the wheel every week, make a blueprint, assigning different days to different types of content.
Having a rhythm to your week, makes creating so much easier.
It takes the guesswork out of it, if you know what to make.

The trolls/ pieces you want to be creating this week, go into the Room of Ready on the first floor.

7. The Planning 21:50
When are you going to create these pieces?
By far the most complicated step!
In Scrum, the system underpinning this process, the planning step takes the longest.

You do not have to plan out your whole week, just the first few days so you can get started.

As you go through your week, the term priority and prioritization are important.
You’re in a dance with your pieces of content, moving around what needs to go first and what can wait until later.

The art of creating with limited time, unexpected things, etc, is one that grows overtime.

Reviewing pays off in learning lessons every week;
And making every week easier and more pleasurable.

8. The MESSENGER 24:05
Introduction to this new type of creator, which I will be highlighting and telling more about in future videos.

The next CREATOR series with troll dolls
will go out on this blog.

Rock Star Take On FAILURE
| The New Rock Star Channel

The New Rock Star Channel is back!
With a new format:
– 10 minute video
– no preparation

And I failed at keeping it at 10 minutes but that’s completely on topic! 🤗

This week, the twenty-sixth video.
A Rock Star Take On FAILURE

video recorded Friday 27 February 2026

In this video;

1. We’re back! 00:00
With a new episode of a Rock Star Take on;
And today the topic is FAILURE
Something which I got to know intimately, these last couple of months, because I failed so many times when filming these videos.
I have a whole newly acquired stack of failures, under my belt!

2. Failure versus Productivity 00:56
Failure, more often than not, actually translates as:
Failure to be productive.
In a world obsessed with productivity, failing is considered wasteful.
Our shame of failure stems from fear of being rejected by society.

3. Failure is an inherent part of creativity 02:56
Insecurity, taking risks and starting something without knowing where it is gonna go, are all ingrained in being creative or being an artist.

Productivity demands the absence of failure.
Creativity dances with it.

4. “Failure”? Can still be success! 04:55
Last week I lost a lot of hours to studying a topic that did not have anything to do with my work nor with my creativity.
So all those hours, I “failed” at being productive.
And yet!
When creating my week review, I realized these hours had brought me insights into myself and about the last past years, which were extremely valuable.

So in retrospect, those “lost” hours had an incredible revenue or outcome!

An outcome I would never have had, had I stuck with the narrow definition of success.
It required just plunging in head first, not knowing the outcome.

Want to learn how to do Week Reviews yourself?
This will be next week’s video! So subscribe to this channel.
To work with me, setting up your own week reviews, look if the CREATOR offer is still up:
https://catacombenijmegen.com/current-offer/
CREATOR helps content creators and other artists achieve their creative goals.

5. Recap: 2 big takeaways 07:22
⚠️ beware of productivity forcing us into a narrowminded idea of what success is
❓ Let the “failure” sink in a bit, before you label it. It could turn out to be an unexpected success.

6. Creating on the cusp of failure 09:03
Art really needs you to be in that dance with failure!
Productivity and getting the job done, is the rule for normal life.

But your best art, is the one you could fail.

This week episode 4:
🏟️📚💿🖼️Rocking big projects
| CREATOR series w. troll dolls

Because any process you don’t know by heart, belongs in the trash bin!

video recorded on Monday 23 February 2026

In this video;

1. Welcome to a new episode in the CREATOR series 00:00
Today we’re going to tackle two situations which you may know from your own creative practice:
– the concept of content planning
Which is not popular with creatives, but here me out 😉
– handling things that have a long runtime
For example a traditional concert tour that takes 12-18 months of preparation

2. Rock your big projects example 1: Planning a tour 01:00
With our very modern Tourmanager🦸🏻‍♂️ Daddy
Who only plans one week ahead for his band!
Because it really illustrates how we can plan our bigger pieces of content.

First we walk through the traditional process of 12-18 months of planning a tour;
And then we compare it to a process where you only plan for 1 week ahead.

3. Rock your big projects example 2: Planning a book 06:09
First we walk through the traditional process of 12-18 months of planning a book;
And then we compare it to a process where you would only plan smaller pieces.
And avoid many of the risks tied to projects that have long runtimes.

The CREATOR system encourages you to break up big projects into smaller increments that deliver both you and your audience value sooner, and reduce risk.

4. Content planning 10:16
Why it so hated, how to appreciate it, and when content planning will save your art.

Regular content planning misses the element of creativity, and is typically setup to function for businesses who want their content to drive sales.
Not for artists who want to create a body of work, or build an audience.

5. Planning done right 11:15
Plan based on what YOU value, in a broader and personal sense and not automatically what makes the money.

F.e.:
“What are three posts that have the biggest artistic impact?”
“Have borderline disruptive, rebellious quality?”

This planning system can work in favor of your own creative agenda, and you do not have to see yourself as a work horse.

6. Bigger or more complicated content REQUIRES planning
Flow based creativity is amazing, but bigger pieces of content require planning.

Knowing how to plan, can be a wonderful addition to giving yourself free rein with your smaller, easier pieces.
Planning broadens your range of what you can create.

Rock Star Take On SEXUALITY
| WINTER 2026

| The New Rock Star Channel

The New Rock Star Channel is back!
With a new format:
– 10 minute video
– no preparation

This week, the twenty-fifth video.
A Rock Star Take On SEXUALITY

video recorded Wednesday 11 February 2026

In this video;

1. We’re back! 00:00
With our seasonal episode of a Rock Star Take on SEXUALITY
These videos are pretty dry and once every three months I spice things up at least a little bit, by using this topic.

Despite the rule that I don’t prepare these videos;
I did prepare this one!
Because I already recorded this video, but it wasn’t good.
I had to delete, so this is the second time I am recording it.

But the redo of this video just tie into our topic;
Because we’re going to talk about Sexual Journeys!
Which usually take longer than you anticipate and end up being full of unexpected problems.

2. What is “a journey”? 01:26
It’s when people deliberately take on transforming an area of their life.
A Sexual Journey means you intentionally set foot on the path of developing your sexuality.
Which I something I did but my Sexual Journey was twenty years ago, so we didn’t call it “a Journey” then.

It’s not in the video this way, but in 2026 terms;
My entire sexuality needed to a glow-up!

3. My Sexual Journey 02:39
All I knew was that I would regret it, if I died and without at least trying, to get the love life I really wanted. My sex life had not been up-to-par for a long time and I knew it was me, not my partner.
From my perspective, my entire sexuality needed to be “redone”😅!

4. My Journey 05:25
My goal was to go through that sweet cycle of falling in love and becoming lovers, a few more times. That was the idea.
And although nothing went as planned, I did come out the other side completely renewed and I did not regret leaving my relationship behind for this.
Which was a price I had been prepared to pay.

5. keys: 🔑Start Strong, 🔑Outer-pushback and 🔑inner-demons 06:42

🔑Start Strong
Just like a real journey to a physical location, a metaphorical journey should include a thorough plan, preparation and some professional support does not hurt either.

🔑Outer-pushback and 🔑inner-demons
We all understand that on any journey we will bump into our own unhealthy patterns and that we will need to transcend our limitations.
But if you go on a sexual journey? Then the response from society is definitely your biggest foe.

A Sexual Journey is an incredibly powerful path, but also one of the very few that will give you a ruthless reveal of the truth about who you have surrounded yourself with.
And how shockingly little room there really is, for you to make your own choices.
Not without consequence.
