It used to be one of the things I learned studying business, that I thought was so useful, insightful, and something every business owner should know!
That any business is only as good as their systems.
Systems for example for offering online courses, for taking orders, packaging, processing payments, registrations and so on, are the real value, of our business.
If your systems work great, you can even sell your business.
And to the highest bidder of which there will be many!
Or setup a franchise system, which comes down to leasing out your set of systems.
And not just in-house tech.
Platforms too, which you use to get your content out or the money in, are part of your systems.
This is the infamous:
“Don’t build your house on somebody else’s ground.” – wisdom.
A warning, that if you build a business relying on a platform, it could all be taken away from you.
Something I am experiencing because I have been unable to access my website.
Only in this case, I had paid for use of the ground, but the payment went wrong triggering the landowner’s accountant and they kicked me off.
Thankfully, access has been restored, but a residual hiccup persists, and the url currently still has “wordpress” in there.
The main url is not in place yet.
But what I learned was what is wrong with the idea that a business = systems.
There is another way, which is to rely on YOU;
Not on your systems.
For a regular business owner, or an accountant, or someone who loves building systems?
Yes.
Your business SHOULD be to build systems.
But a Rock Star was born in freedom, and what they sell is the promise of that.
The medium they use, is simply the one they have access to today.

ABOUT THE LOST POST SERIES
I have been consistently posting “What Do Rock Stars Need To Hear Today” for a while now.
Starting June 2023, they found their final form as blogposts here on the Catacombe blog, pretty quickly.
But I’ve always been aware there were singular posts/ borderline poetry, still on social media, floating somewhere down my timeline.
Some at the beginning when I did not know what this series would be.
Some around the time in October/November 2023, when I lost access to this site.
And then a few in between.
And in addition to that there are the ones I did post on the blog, but whose stories revolve around things I no longer offer.
I will retrieve those too;
And give them a new story, that has the timeless quality they deserve.
