The parts that suck.
The parts that shame.
The parts that blame.
The parts that f.

Bring them.

In the 90s there used to be this premium gasoline, and I can’t find anything about it on Google, so I will just have to share what I remember.
But looking back I would label it an attempt to make gasoline an emotional product. Like an identity or self-care or something.
It had a strange sounding name, or it sounded strange at the time and for the times.
Lofty.
Soft.

Marketing has evolved since then but putting two and two together, I really do believe that although premium gasoline is still around, that first attempt somehow missed the mark.
That the connection between the product and the image or emotion it was supposed to evoke was fabricated and was never going to work.

And the reason it wasn’t going to work, selling a fuel as, ugh, a lifestyle product of beauty of some sort…. jeez, just typing it out gives me the creeps;
But the reason it doesn’t work, is because the purpose of gasoline is not to be beautiful.
And in fact, it will harm a hell of a lot of beautiful things, like our earth, when doing what we bought it for.

We can’t afford going around associating gasoline with beauty, because we had to actually sacrifice thinking of beauty, had to come to terms with making a toxic imprint, just to get around.
Having gasoline remind us of beauty only aggravates our guilt over this.

You see, that’s the thing with what it is you’re here to do as well.
If you’ve decided that you are here to do big things, or to do small things but do them with great care, make them your life’s work, and that those things reflect your number 1 value and are your priority? 
You’re going to break some eggs to make the omelet.

You have to make peace with the fact that resources are going to be used for this higher good, and that this is how you will give them their purpose.
What will make them “good”.
That they had the pleasure of being used in an intentional way, that, is the biggest favor you can do them.

Just like we can’t afford ourselves to think about every liter of gasoline, once we have decided we need a car in order to get around and live our lives-
in the same way we cannot afford to think of whether the things we tap into and use to do what matters to us most;
Are good, or bad, or beautiful on their own accord.

They derive their purpose from being used or brought out, for the right reasons.

And the person you need to become in order to fulfil what you have identified as your work here on earth?
That person could very well be rocking the boat!
Even Mother Theresa made choices many of us did not agree with, but I think she knew why she drew the line where she did, and why she put her policies in place.
It was required to do her life’s work.
She didn’t have the luxury to judge every individual action.

And neither do you, but there is more.
More than just coming to terms with the breaking of the omelets.

Because unlike a motor, we can never be sure which fuel our projects require. So we better bring everything we got.

If we fear away from showing ourselves in full, berate ourselves for whatever mistakes we think we made in the past that make us less deserving?
We’re not all in.
We’re filtering out what we think is bad and unacceptable about us, but what if that is exactly the premium fuel your motor is going to require?

In particular when you think how, even quicker than car motors, the world changes, and with it the skill sets that are required to live in it.
What you think of as a bad characteristic or a bad experience, may be the skill or lesson that saves you one day.
Or that saves someone else.
Or that builds a whole new community, where thousands of people will find refuge.

Don’t knock anything, and bring everything.

And do the work you came here to do, now.

yeah but you are the work

Not the planning, not the getting ready for it.
Not the training for it or the doing it until you retire or sell the place.

You’re not the spider in the web and you’re not the team player unless it’s your team, or unless you’re the hired gun.

You don’t necessarily sleep alone, nor own the things you use on a daily basis.
But could if you wanted to and could if you needed to.

You’re not about that.

I have more than once assessed someone wrongly, where I could have bet my yoga mat I was talking to someone on purpose, on path, in full self-expression and on that exciting edge between what you can still do, and what will probably have you cannibalizing on resources including that of your own body.
And still you’ll do it, just to see if you can.

I’ve seen them glowing, and I have literally been on the verge of expressing my happiness for them, the words already on the tip of my tongue/
When suddenly I heard that this?
Oh, it’s all just temporary!

It was either all just a means to an end.
For money, for social interactions, or because sitting at home was driving them nuts.
Nothing fancy.
Or it was what they chose to do, but it would never define them. It was not that important.

Or, the alternative;
They told me it was all just for fun.
Pastime.
Didn’t mean anything and they would soon need to go back into the real world, because we’d all sign up to live that way if we could but we just can’t.

And then more often than not, they actually did.
Left their ways behind and focused on what they claimed really mattered. 

And the other times I lost track of them, so I don’t know if they ultimately chose to discard or walk away from what I saw as the one thing they would never get tired of.
Never get bored with.
And would always find new ways to love, to change, and to play with.

Or am I wrong, thinking to this day that we are here to let ourselves be captivated by the work we do?
That we are meant to fall for that unusual lifestyle that fits us like a glove.
Called for a reason, to serve the higher purpose that will takeover and mark everything we do.

Am I wrong?

Was I wrong to think it made their heart beat, ran through their veins and was encoded into their very DNA?

Fortunately, it doesn’t really matter.
But do me a favor, will you?
Get the answer right, when it comes to your own life.

And be absolutely hellbent about it.

your strength was given

They say to travel fast go alone, and to travel far go with a group.
But travel to where?
And why?

Your purpose was given in the ground under your feet.
The air in your lungs.
The vision burning in your mind.

Bright as the summer sun.

Strength and purpose do not come from knowing where you want to go.
Of course, I know the stories of people accomplishing their dreams, and moving from not having to having, but I do not know them well enough to vouch for the dream being the key ingredient to their accomplishment later on.

What I do know is that in general a dream, when held as a defined target, causes stress, lack of faith, and anything but wise decisions.
So much is at stake.
It’s like even having the dream is disempowering.

When the actual strength to accomplishing them, seems to come from something else.
From an understanding and an appreciation, of the day to day action you can take and right on the spot where you currently are.

It is when you fall in love with what you could call “working on the dream”, that it will give you wings.
The dream now being, to be allowed to do the actual work.

The dream itself little more than a guiding principle.
An inspirational thought, but not a reason-to.
Not a have-to-or-else.

It is the ones who have deeply embraced and gotten serious, with their daily tasks, trusting it is the commitment itself that is the reward;
It is those ones, you will recognize as being the strongest of will, of character.

In this phase there is no longer “execution”, because that implies the actions are tied to a higher purpose which was first made actionable.
When the things you do every day can still be replaced by other, more effective means, you’re not there yet.

You’re there when you have stopped looking.

And you have immersed yourself with joy, purpose and dedication in mundane, repetitive tasks and you forget any connection they have to what you may have thought your dream was;
It is then, that you are on path.

Purpose is not to chase for your dreams.
But to be so on path, you completely forgot about them.

we need you daily

It doesn’t have to be new content and it also doesn’t need to be the same formula every day.
Anything that can be squeezed into your social media will do.

But it needs to be something that comes straight from your soul to ours, and that pulls us in, moves us, and leaves us in awe and fascination.

Hungry for more.

This is one against the grain, and even against my own logic. The one that tells me “but I first have to….!” or “I can’t because!”

And I’m not even going to claim I always make the wisest choices in the area of showing up for social media presence myself, but here’s the gist of what I have come to understand, and you can HOLD me to this for the upcoming fifty years or so.

Moving 2024 and up, the Rock Star artists, independents, and people building a sustainable business that will last them the rest of their lives need to master the art of showing up daily.

We NEED to SEE you.

This is not just part of your job, that IS your job.

And then;
Walk away from the explosion.
Just like the movies.
Don’t linger.

Does a rock star invite everybody to drop their comments asking what they thought about the show?
No, I don’t think so either.
They walk out, and before the applause is over they are in a car leaving the premises.

And why?
Because a live rock show, by its very nature, is exactly right for the day and the place. 
And guess what my friend?
So is yours.

Don’t let the recording and collecting of your messages drive you nuts or leave you disheartened;
Let it fall by the wayside if you must.
Curating your messages is not your job.

Nor is reviewing them, criticizing them, judging them, or in anyway not backing this part of what it is you’re doing.

This is the new era, where our words are not collected into books that will last for generations.
Our photos are not printed into hundred dollar coffee table books, instead they are fed to AI, where they will live on forever and at the same time die in their essence.

So it is not WHAT you bring, it is the fact that you PERSONALLY, bring it. And that it comes from YOUR hand, that makes it so valuable.
It is timely, contemporary.
It is NOW.

Your work on social media is you appearing personally.
And yes, of course you also have a powerful message, but it will no longer be the message nor the specs nor the quality of your work, that will make the mark.
Not, what will make you Rock Star-unique.

It is your ability to ride the highest waves in that stormy ocean.

To be there on the frontier of the newest media, and to stand your ground.
To back yourself.
To BE, there.
Wave after wave and day after day after day.

That, is not just your job;
It is your legacy.

Strip your work to its barest parts.
Your marketing.
Packaging.
Pricing.
Your tactics, formulas, methods, the endless generation and chasing of new things.

Stop.

Let it all go, down to the very essence of what people pay you for.
You.

As creatives we are born with problems in this capitalist world which no one, and I mean no one, needs to envy;
The endless stream of new and exciting things to do.

I have said on more than one occasion, if writer’s block came in a bottle, I’d pay for that. A lot.

Now maybe you noticed the little adjective there; capitalist, world.
Which is the place where we make money because we sell whatever it is we have to sell. And this needs to be predictable, and not something new every week, unless you know a way to make that something new predictable.

From 2016 to 2023 I followed business coach Katrina Ruth, and I keep reading her books and keep studying the courses I bought.
And she was highly prolific at creating her offers.

Instead of heaving long, carefully planned launches, she’d be launching, meaning selling a new program, every week.
“And two if it’s a Sunday” she’d sometimes cheekily add.

Sunday would then be the closing day for the “old” offer, and she’d drop her new one as well.

Offers could range from new courses – for which she had only written the sales page because the whole program would actually be created on the go!- to reopening an old program and running it again.
From home study courses, to group programs with live calls, to six week one-on-ones and so on.
Prices ranged from under a hundred dollar to a thousand, to ones you could DM her for, to get the price and see if it’s right for you.

Her highest paying group wasn’t even launched, and hardly ever talked about but  from the rare moments she did I understood it was € 10.000 per month or € 100.000 per year.
And that was 4, 5 years ago.

Just to illustrate that when I say to strip away all the extras, and to reinvent an Unplugged version of your “show” where you are bringing it down to the bare essentials, I do not mean we’re all going minimalist here.
Just that we should ONLY be doing the part, that is really us.

Clearly, in the example of Katrina Ruth, launching a new thing every week, was the very essence of who she was.
She works in a different way now.

Who you are is susceptible to change.

You may be someone who offers only one program or one service in 2024, and have twenty different things on your plate in 2034.

But back to that adjective:
Capitalist.
Why did I even bring that up, because it is a bit sour don’t you think?
Couldn’t I just have stuck with writing something inspirational, sweet and short?

The reason I brought it up, is because it is important to understand that capitalism thrives on predictability, which is opposite to the nature of what creativity is.
So if you allow yourself to act on every thought and inspiration, but also on every fear and insecurity, you are undermining your work as a business owner because that is tied to:
“How predictable can you be?”

And many of us, like me, have a lot of creativity but little consistency, which is why I started dreaming of a syrup to end the flow of creativity.
Consistency pays more than creativity.
Yes ouch, I know.

So the very least you can do, is to not engage in things you are neither consistent at, that are not soul-fulfillingly creative, and also, not something you get paid for.

And that also gives you the three reasons to DO things:
-you can do them consistently
-they are soul-fulfillingly creative
-you get paid for them

And the best news is of course that the absolute highest paying, most resilient business model you could possibly come up with, is this;
-something you can do consistently
-AND it is soul-fulfillingly creative!

That, is *your name here* unplugged.

do what only you can do

There used to be stories of mastery costing 10.000 hours.
Are they still passed on?

But it is your own unique way of doing it, that makes the difference.

Whether one hour in, or reflecting back on a life well lived.

“Is there no one else?!”
Brad Pitt’s Achilles cries out, after having killed the opposing army’s best fighter in one strike.
“Who are you?” the elderly army commander asks, in wonder.
“Achilles, son of Peleus.”
“Achilles…. I will remember the name.”

You too have an area where you can take out the competition, even when you show up late and just spent the night in a field tent with too much wine and too many sexual partners whose existence you will forget before the day has passed.

An area where you do not even have to try, and yet it would be an impossibility to not let every action be one of effortless grace and beauty.
With people staring, wanting to be near you and work with you, just to witness its perfection once more.

But contrary to Achilles, who was aware his hand was the one deciding the battles, you are probably still showing up for the system.
Your talent underappreciated.

You see, the reason there was no one else to go toe to toe with Achilles, was because the others were paid to be part of the system of the army.
Not to be an individual warrior.
And there were good fighters and bad fighters, and bonusses for the ones taking part of the first line.
But ultimately all were paid first and foremost, to stay within the ranks.

Achilles’ divine mother, knew his choice.
That to go to Troy and to fulfill his destiny, would go hand in hand with what she called his doom.
Or was it?

Because is doom what will end your life?
Or is doom if you do not walk the path that was yours?

They are meant to be expressed in your own unique way.

And yes, they may lead to what others will call your doom, but is it really?
What would it feel like to come to where you are needed most, and to do what only you can do, and to fully step into your power and glory?

In the age of social media there are two options;
One is to message anywhere between daily and all day or at least consistently.

But if your energy is heavier and slower, more grounded;
Let your absence do the seducing.

I absolutely adore professionals who are on the socials every day.
Or who launch their new thing visiting every podcast that will have them, and do whatever it takes getting their foot in the door, with the ones that don’t want them!
Yet.

Scanning their search results or visiting these people’s timeline comes with a sense of anticipation and excitement!
It’s often, and perhaps even preferably, predictable content. The exact same message, day after day.
Week after week.
Season in, season out.
But always presented with an aliveness that has brought them where they are today.

Sometimes you know them so well, you even know their specials by heart.
And yet, it never ceases to mesmerize you.
I love everything about those professionals;
Their drive.
Their energy.
Their stories and their current offer wrapping you up, like a blanket.

For a few minutes, you’re in their world, and whether you buy something or not, it doesn’t really matter.
You feel refreshed.
Ready to take on whatever it is, you were procrastinating on.

But if being such a powerhouse Rock Star messenger is not you, then cultivate the not being on social media.
Being offline.
Having adventures of which you show us, but a sliver.
Post your photo quoting Rilke or Axl Rose, or both.

Enchant us with your absence, and feed our voracious minds tiny little things to chew on.
Starve us.
Be cruel to us.
Draw us into your Theater of the Unknown,
Your Dome of the Desired.
Promise us every dream and unfulfilled passion coming true.

Or at least hint, boldly, at its possibility.

Leaving all options wide open, wink, and sell us a ticket first row.

your calling will find you

When you close your eyes and open yourself up to universal wisdom;
Thinking deeply.
Contemplating.
Feeling the breath calming and the mind clearing.

Or when you are ecstatically dancing in Flow;
To the beat of the Universal drum.
One with Life itself.

Or whether you are working hard, struggling forward, leaving no stone untouched, with a therapist, a coach or studying a book or a program.

The calling you find is, in all probability, not The One.

The deal is really simple here.
Either you are someone who will have a calling, or you are not.
And even if you are someone who has a calling, it can still come in at least two ways;

It can come from the outside moving in;
A pressing quest like Frodo knowing he was the one to take the ring to Mordor.

Or it can come from the inside moving out;
Jezus knowing he was here to do God’s work.

These two examples illustrate a calling is not something you can choose, nor should you be particularly delighted when you find out you have one.
In the classic The Hero’s Journey from Joseph Campbell, there is a reason there are several chapters dedicated just to the part where the hero refuses the calling.
A calling is not something we accept because we think it’s a nice way to spend our lives, because we will be meeting cool people, because we will learn things we have been curious about for a long time;
Nor is it something that will make our lives better, nor necessarily will we be saving others.

Above all, a calling is something you cannot NOT do.
It will risk losing your life, either figuratively because your life is now in service of that (you’ve lost your life to the calling) or you risk losing your life literally due to various perils on your way.

In other words;
You’d have to be pretty lost to voluntarily go look for a calling, or want one.

Fantasies, ambitions, nice-to-have-stuff, cool adventures to want, and massive challenges to take, just to see of you can do it?
Those are the goals that can shape and give direction to our lives, in a fun and meaningful way, without eating us alive.
Without breaking us, without burning our world down, without stripping us from everything we hold dear, and we can still grow, we can find friends for life, and we will have spent our lives in a meaningful and better way because of it.
Growing, and aspiring a worthy goal.

But real callings?
Those are the ones that find you, when you are not looking.
The ones you don’t want, and that are so overwhelming and outside your zone of comfort, you simply have no idea where to begin.

You look around, if there’s not someone else who can do this, but there is no one. If you don’t do this it will not get done, and you know it.
And yet you still refuse.
Run away.
You deject, the real calling.

Which isn’t a problem at all, really. No, seriously, no probs!
‘Cause this one?
Oh, it will find you again.

you will crave a different coach

Not just because you are self-reliant;
Not just because you are consumed by inspiration, haunted by unnamed forces of creative power.

But because you know your presence alone, every word you move, and every gesture you speak;
Is a gift given.

George Michael once said of sex workers:
“You don’t pay them for sex, you pay them to leave.”
And I imagine he meant that when you have sex with a lover, partner or hook-up, you owe them extra time and courtesy, at a moment when you are ready to wrap up.
You can even be expected to deliver after-care in the form of a text or call, and there’s always a risk of it getting ugly if they wanted more.

When what a professional provides is a pleasant, drama-free goodbye.

Aside from the emotional hygiene, there are more characteristics of sex work, which make for excellent business practices.
But also excellent client practices, or just really “excellent practices”! .
There is no reason why we should limit this skill set to business.

Pleasant practices we should all strive for:
-introducing yourself
-explaining what you are looking for or what appealed to you in the other person or their offer
-asking for a call or date, and waiting for the other to accept. Or to not accept.
-one-off appointments, at a moment or time both parties feel good about
-both parties being courteous and respectful
-actively seeing the good in each other
-asking for consent for every act or move that even remotely qualifies for it!
Every “Yes” or “That would be great.” or “Would you do that for me?!” making both of you feel great. The one who offers, as well as the one who loves to accept.

Now, on the other hand, in the coaching industry, not counting online home-study programs because they do not involve connection and interaction-
but focusing on the rest of the coaching industry, then we’d have to turn every stone to find:
– 1 time, singular, coaching.
It is sometimes offered as a VIP day, private intensive or private workshop. But they are incredibly rare!
And we see 99% coaching run on:
-group programs, including master minds
-1-on-1 coaching programs that include an online training (live or pre-recorded) to support your work together
or
-coaching that covers a certain time period,
*f.e. a year of one-on-one coaching, very often with unlimited (email/ Voxer) messaging, so you’re paying to be in continuous conversation.
*multiple session package.
*or a combination where you pay for a certain time-period but know in advance how often you will speak. F.e. a six week package with a weekly coaching call.

Now don’t get me wrong!
These are all FABULOUS WAYS TO TAKE COACHING!!!!!

But, you guessed it;
Not for Rock Stars.

Nor are they a good fit for anyone with the genetic makeup of a Rock Star.
Which you’ll know soon enough if that’s you, just read on.

Because let’s imagine the late Rock Star George Michael had wanted coaching.
What could have been his issues with these dominant coaching structures?

Well, being George Michael, he knows his presence is worth something. In fact it is worth everything.

He risked that the coach could be using his name, in their marketing or just name dropping it in casual conversation with new buyers;
And he also knew that if he showed up in a Mastermind or a group program, the money should have been given to him.
Not by him.
He would know not to pay to get in;
But to be paid to be there!

And the same goes for studying other people’s material;
Rock Stars have people studying their material!
Always remember you are a creator, not a consumer.

What will also not go well is when a coach asks questions f.e. based on a structure, but it can also be the way they do social interaction in general.

First of all it should come as no surprise that anyone who classifies as a Rock Star would hate being asked questions!
Probably reminds them of journalists! 😉

But there is also a more general principle, why certain people (Rock Stars) will hate being asked questions;

Questions, are overpowering the other person.

But a conversation, is a sign of equality.

The police asks questions. Your parents asked questions. In a job interview you’re being asked questions.
Nothing says I am the boss, like asking questions.

And if you’re a Rock Star and have a hard time finding professionals, I bet it’s because they are asking questions.

What you’re looking for is someone to have a conversation with, but this means a professional needs to be able to hold themselves at your level. 

The whole dynamic between the two of you, should be based on mutual respect, but also joy, lightheartedness, recognition, and awe.

What you are asking for Rock Star, is for someone who is complementary  in what they bring to the table;
Who is understanding of their own worth, but who is also very aware of yours.

And that you are giving in spades by showing up for your session.

That your presence is your gift.

They are not paid to spend time with you;
But to keep things profesh, and to wrap up lightly!

Leaving it entirely up to you, if there will be another time.

change your timeline to your advantage

Even from the most basic 3D perspective, there already is a version of you that had something in place you’re currently struggling with.

Living as if you are them, there, will give it back to you.
Effortlessly.

There have been multiple scientific studies around aging, that all proved the surroundings of your younger years have a rejuvenating effect.

You do not have to believe in magic to accept this.
You can see it as the moment you invest in tricking your mind, by removing habits or even skills you picked up in later years;
Moving away from newer technology you acquired, or just from the unhealthy use of it;
Refraining from contemporary culture/ entertainment;
The unnecessary part of aging is reversed.

Focusing on the part we can all agree on is flexible has also been my take on what positive thinking was about as well.
In the 90s we didn’t use the terms mindset or manifestation, and the umbrella name was “positive thinking”.
Which was not without controverse, understandably because of its implications that illness is your own fault.

A simplified idea which embodies everything that was wrong with the  New Age movement. 

But I did not let this stop me from practicing it, because I was aware that there was always a level to which our thoughts influenced our experience, that we could all agree on.
If we feel great, the day goes great.
If we feel awful, the day will go akin.

Even in the 90s, I always believed there was a vanilla level of reality bending where we didn’t have to bump heads.
And in 2024, when covering the topic of aging, and how you can prevent it by placing yourself on an earlier timeline, I think that truth still stands.

Even the biggest sceptic will understand that what you think influences your experience.
It’s just the degree to which you believe this to be true, where opinions can be different.

So this is all about if your ACTUAL PAST, holds a key to the person you would like to be today, or contains the life (/lifestyle) you would now like to have.

But we can move further into this.

Because without going deep into quantum and the nature of reality;
What would happen if we expand on our little mind-trick experiment, imagining our past self actually even making better choices?

So not just do we start living from the actual reality of our lived past, but we bring the wisdom we acquired over later years, to give them a competitive advantage?
To improve on the life they lived?

Just like living in the past, a younger self, will rejuvenate you because your mind stops supporting the idea of an aged body;
Changing the past, will change you too because your mind stops supporting a life choice you want to reverse, and/or it will start living into a path you wish you had taken.

If you believe these small changes, playing mind games are possible (living in the past, and then making a different choice there) then in my opinion, what you have now done is this;
You have opened a portal.

You are now on a different timeline.

You just gave yourself a new chance, at life.
