Do you know the story about the guitarist who sold his soul to the devil?

His name was Robert Johnson, and he was the founder of the blues, back in the 1930’s.

Which also makes him the first rock star.

His life was made into a documentary “The Devil at the Crossroads”, telling the myth (or was it?!) that he sold his soul, in order to achieve greatness.

I’ve always had a weak spot for the devil.
For many reasons and none of them because I would be tempted to sell my soul.

But there is something compelling about what must be bedazzling intellect!
And who would not be impressed by their premeditative, patient planning to snare the souls of the innocent…
They are a master in the art of seduction, and there are times when I wonder how nice it would be to have a mind like that, to ask for consultations…

One gifted with supernatural knowledge and certainty.

Now the bad news is;
I do not pretend to give you anything as effective as what Robert Johnson got at the crossroads!

But the good news is;

In the age of social media there are two options;
One is to message anywhere between daily and all day or at least consistently.

But if your energy is heavier and slower, more grounded;
Let your absence do the seducing.

—

I absolutely adore professionals who are on the socials every day.
Or who launch their new thing visiting every podcast that will have them, and do whatever it takes getting their foot in the door, with the ones that don’t want them!
Yet.

Scanning their search results or visiting these people’s timeline comes with a sense of anticipation and excitement!
It’s often, and perhaps even preferably, predictable content. The exact same message, day after day.
Week after week.
Season in, season out.
But always presented with an aliveness that has brought them where they are today.

Sometimes you know them so well, you even know their specials by heart.
And yet, it never ceases to mesmerize you.
I love everything about those professionals;
Their drive.
Their energy.
Their stories and their current offer wrapping you up, like a blanket.

For a few minutes, you’re in their world, and whether you buy something or not, it doesn’t really matter.
You feel refreshed.
Ready to take on whatever it is, you were procrastinating on.

But if being such a powerhouse Rock Star messenger is not you, then cultivate the not being on social media.
Being offline.
Having adventures of which you show us, but a sliver.
Post your photo quoting Rilke or Axl Rose, or both.

Enchant us with your absence, and feed our voracious minds tiny little things to chew on.
Starve us.
Be cruel to us.
Draw us into your Theater of the Unknown,
Your Dome of the Desired.
Promise us every dream and unfulfilled passion coming true.

Or at least hint, boldly, at its possibility.

Leaving all options wide open, wink, and sell us a ticket first row.

your calling will find you

When you close your eyes and open yourself up to universal wisdom;
Thinking deeply.
Contemplating.
Feeling the breath calming and the mind clearing.

Or when you are ecstatically dancing in Flow;
To the beat of the Universal drum.
One with Life itself.

Or whether you are working hard, struggling forward, leaving no stone untouched, with a therapist, a coach or studying a book or a program.

The calling you find is, in all probability, not The One.

—

The deal is really simple here.
Either you are someone who will have a calling, or you are not.
And even if you are someone who has a calling, it can still come in at least two ways;

It can come from the outside moving in;
A pressing quest like Frodo knowing he was the one to take the ring to Mordor.

Or it can come from the inside moving out;
Jezus knowing he was here to do God’s work.

These two examples illustrate a calling is not something you can choose, nor should you be particularly delighted when you find out you have one.
In the classic The Hero’s Journey from Joseph Campbell, there is a reason there are several chapters dedicated just to the part where the hero refuses the calling.
A calling is not something we accept because we think it’s a nice way to spend our lives, because we will be meeting cool people, because we will learn things we have been curious about for a long time;
Nor is it something that will make our lives better, nor necessarily will we be saving others.

Above all, a calling is something you cannot NOT do.
It will risk losing your life, either figuratively because your life is now in service of that (you’ve lost your life to the calling) or you risk losing your life literally due to various perils on your way.

In other words;
You’d have to be pretty lost to voluntarily go look for a calling, or want one.

Fantasies, ambitions, nice-to-have-stuff, cool adventures to want, and massive challenges to take, just to see of you can do it?
Those are the goals that can shape and give direction to our lives, in a fun and meaningful way, without eating us alive.
Without breaking us, without burning our world down, without stripping us from everything we hold dear, and we can still grow, we can find friends for life, and we will have spent our lives in a meaningful and better way because of it.
Growing, and aspiring a worthy goal.

But real callings?
Those are the ones that find you, when you are not looking.
The ones you don’t want, and that are so overwhelming and outside your zone of comfort, you simply have no idea where to begin.

You look around, if there’s not someone else who can do this, but there is no one. If you don’t do this it will not get done, and you know it.
And yet you still refuse.
Run away.
You deject, the real calling.

Which isn’t a problem at all, really. No, seriously, no probs!
‘Cause this one?
Oh, it will find you again.

you will crave a different coach

Not just because you are self-reliant;
Not just because you are consumed by inspiration, haunted by unnamed forces of creative power.

But because you know your presence alone, every word you move, and every gesture you speak;
Is a gift given.

George Michael once said of sex workers:
“You don’t pay them for sex, you pay them to leave.”
And I imagine he meant that when you have sex with a lover, partner or hook-up, you owe them extra time and courtesy, at a moment when you are ready to wrap up.
You can even be expected to deliver after-care in the form of a text or call, and there’s always a risk of it getting ugly if they wanted more.

When what a professional provides is a pleasant, drama-free goodbye.

Aside from the emotional hygiene, there are more characteristics of sex work, which make for excellent business practices.
But also excellent client practices, or just really “excellent practices”! .
There is no reason why we should limit this skill set to business.

Pleasant practices we should all strive for:
-introducing yourself
-explaining what you are looking for or what appealed to you in the other person or their offer
-asking for a call or date, and waiting for the other to accept. Or to not accept.
-one-off appointments, at a moment or time both parties feel good about
-both parties being courteous and respectful
-actively seeing the good in each other
-asking for consent for every act or move that even remotely qualifies for it!
Every “Yes” or “That would be great.” or “Would you do that for me?!” making both of you feel great. The one who offers, as well as the one who loves to accept.
-drama free goodbyes, without expecting a follow up (courtesy of George Michael)

Now, on the other hand, in the coaching industry, not counting online home-study programs because they do not involve connection and interaction-
but focusing on the rest of the coaching industry, then we’d have to turn every stone to find:
– 1 time, singular, coaching.
It is sometimes offered as a VIP day, private intensive or private workshop. But they are incredibly rare!
And we see 99% coaching run on:
-group programs, including master minds
-1-on-1 coaching programs that include an online training (live or pre-recorded) to support your work together
or
-coaching that covers a certain time period,
*f.e. a year of one-on-one coaching, very often with unlimited (email/ Voxer) messaging, so you’re paying to be in continuous conversation.
*multiple session package.
*or a combination where you pay for a certain time-period but know in advance how often you will speak. F.e. a six week package with a weekly coaching call.

Now don’t get me wrong!
These are all FABULOUS WAYS TO TAKE COACHING!!!!!

But, you guessed it;
Not for Rock Stars.

Nor are they a good fit for anyone with the genetic makeup of a Rock Star.
Which you’ll know soon enough if that’s you, just read on.

Because let’s imagine the late Rock Star George Michael had wanted coaching.
What could have been his issues with these dominant coaching structures?

Well, being George Michael, he knows his presence is worth something. In fact it is worth everything.

He risked that the coach could be using his name, in their marketing or just name dropping it in casual conversation with new buyers;
And he also knew that if he showed up in a Mastermind or a group program, the money should have been given to him.
Not by him.
He would know not to pay to get in;
But to be paid to be there!

And the same goes for studying other people’s material;
Rock Stars have people studying their material!
Always remember you are a creator, not a consumer.

What will also not go well is when a coach asks questions f.e. based on a structure, but it can also be the way they do social interaction in general.

First of all it should come as no surprise that anyone who classifies as a Rock Star would hate being asked questions!
Probably reminds them of journalists! 😉

But there is also a more general principle, why certain people (Rock Stars) will hate being asked questions;

Questions, are overpowering the other person.

But a conversation, is a sign of equality.

.
The police asks questions. Your parents asked questions. In a job interview you’re being asked questions.
Nothing says I am the boss, like asking questions.

And if you’re a Rock Star and have a hard time finding professionals, I bet it’s because they are asking questions.

What you’re looking for is someone to have a conversation with, but this means a professional needs to be able to hold themselves at your level. 

The whole dynamic between the two of you, should be based on mutual respect, but also joy, lightheartedness, recognition, and awe.

What you are asking for Rock Star, is for someone who is complementary  in what they bring to the table;
Who is understanding of their own worth, but who is also very aware of yours.

And that you are giving in spades by showing up for your session.

That your presence is your gift.

They are not paid to spend time with you;
But to keep things profesh, and to wrap up lightly!

Leaving it entirely up to you, if there will be another time.

change your timeline to your advantage

Even from the most basic 3D perspective, there already is a version of you that had something in place you’re currently struggling with.

Living as if you are them, there, will give it back to you.
Effortlessly.

There have been multiple scientific studies around aging, that all proved the surroundings of your younger years have a rejuvenating effect.

You do not have to believe in magic to accept this.
You can see it as the moment you invest in tricking your mind, by removing habits or even skills you picked up in later years;
Moving away from newer technology you acquired, or just from the unhealthy use of it;
Refraining from contemporary culture/ entertainment;
The unnecessary part of aging is reversed.

Focusing on the part we can all agree on is flexible has also been my take on what positive thinking was about as well.
In the 90s we didn’t use the terms mindset or manifestation, and the umbrella name was “positive thinking”.
Which was not without controverse, understandably because of its implications that illness is your own fault.

A simplified idea which embodies everything that was wrong with the  New Age movement. 

But I did not let this stop me from practicing it, because I was aware that there was always a level to which our thoughts influenced our experience, that we could all agree on.
If we feel great, the day goes great.
If we feel awful, the day will go akin.

Even in the 90s, I always believed there was a vanilla level of reality bending where we didn’t have to bump heads.
And in 2024, when covering the topic of aging, and how you can prevent it by placing yourself on an earlier timeline, I think that truth still stands.

Even the biggest sceptic will understand that what you think influences your experience.
It’s just the degree to which you believe this to be true, where opinions can be different.

So this is all about if your ACTUAL PAST, holds a key to the person you would like to be today, or contains the life (/lifestyle) you would now like to have.

But we can move further into this.

Because without going deep into quantum and the nature of reality;
What would happen if we expand on our little mind-trick experiment, imagining our past self actually even making better choices?

So not just do we start living from the actual reality of our lived past, but we bring the wisdom we acquired over later years, to give them a competitive advantage?
To improve on the life they lived?

Just like living in the past, a younger self, will rejuvenate you because your mind stops supporting the idea of an aged body;
Changing the past, will change you too because your mind stops supporting a life choice you want to reverse, and/or it will start living into a path you wish you had taken.

If you believe these small changes, playing mind games are possible (living in the past, and then making a different choice there) then in my opinion, what you have now done is this;
You have opened a portal.

You are now on a different timeline.

You just gave yourself a new chance, at life.

your wholeness is not a negotiable

Just because someone else is invested in only one side of you;
Hired to support one aspect of your life, funded or appointed to be responsible for one area, and I do not care how big or profound or meaningful;

Any assumption they are holding the key to who you are, is vanity.

—

As you may or may not have noticed, ever since October I have not been very active online. The reasons appeared to be scattered ones, incidental ones, unlucky ones.
Futile details, in the larger scope of things.

And that would have been correct, had they not thickened into bigger, unsolvable problems. Fundamental and principal differences. Early indicators of long and proven relationships, that I never expected to have to go without, but that will either bend or break, in the upcoming six months.

October, November 2023, there seemed little more at work than chance. Months later, it is now May 2024, and I see my life coming apart at the seams.
And know that it was time.

That this breaking, or the bending, and the snapping back into something completely anew, for a new era;
It is inevitable.

It is that, or to give away the piece that they are holding. The interest they are having. The part that was never for them to take, but ended up on their half, instead of on my own domain.
It will be claimed.
It is mine.

There is a story in the bible of two women who claim to be the mother of a child. And it is not until it is under threat that the child is cut in half, that the real mother screams: “Take him! Give him to her!”
Revealing the true one.

And we go around giving pieces of our life away, thinking they will be better off with professionals, with other mothers, and that these areas or even parts of our own bodies, need the care of other mothers.
But you and I, cannot afford the price.

The price of being disowned from our own resources.
Disempowered from our own bodies.

Claim back what is yours. Do not give away so easily. Guard, defend, regroup, restore.

And come back stronger.

this is your curtain call

Not to the show you think is feasible, in line with the past, or the one you have been meticulously working on.
Slowly progressing in your skills.

I mean the one coming out guns blazing.

Someone who has seen the 4-part Bon Jovi documentary “Thank you, Goodnight” may recognize the line from guitarist Phil X, that when they come back after Jon Bon Jovi’s recovery of his voice, it will be:
“Guns a-blazing”
So that is where I got the idea, and let’s hope that Bon Jovi will come out in this cowboy style fashion.

But that is really where the comparison stops, because I am not talking about you setting yourself up for a final tour where you take your body of work to a whole new level and let it shine again.
Although it may end up being what you’re gonna do, I don’t know.

But that is not what this is about.

I’m talking about putting it ALL, together. Your whole crossover, mix and match, hot mashup of dreams, callings, things you set out to do, and then you never did.
Start embodying it all, and start it today, because we’ve passed the moment when all this could be achieved according to the ways of the world.
As far as they ever could, in the first place.

But now we need magic.
Improvisation.
You getting the f*** over yourself, and take responsibility for what you came here to do.

Get a paper, a notebook, write yourself an email, and jot down what the fully accomplished version of you has, does, but more importantly who that person IS.

And there may be things that you no longer feel are right, tomorrow.
And I know that writing and words are poor ways of expression, but the real things will be more individualized.
I will share three of them.

Three moments or things or people that shot me straight into where I needed to be.

The first one was when I bought a new black (faux) leather jacket, they called it “sky leather”, when I was 15 year old.
It really grew me, it defined me, and I liked the feeling of the cool inside of the coat, wearing a T-shirt underneath.
The jacket made me.

The second one was Madonna in 1998, coming out with her new record and a new physique; The muscular Ashtanga yoga version of herself.
She radiated power and self-agency, and became the reason I started doing yoga and became a yoga teacher.
Her example engrained in my psyche, what a yogi could be.

The third one was a business coach, Katrina Ruth, whom I found online in December 2016.
Taking her teachings was like a purge, a cleansing of all unhealthy playing small trauma I had picked up along the way.
Of all the times my message was silenced.

Katrina Ruth embodied the pushback and turned me into someone who is not just able to stand up and speak, when asked;
But to roar and rage, when all else has failed.

Claim your place in this world, today.
The show YOU are here to give.

And yes, do it with words, with writing and other modest means;
Until you find your magic jacket.
Until your new body mirrors itself to you, in front of your very eyes.
And until the one who has already become the person, appears, showing you how to do it.

In the 3 areas of

1. income, revenue, possessions;
What is it you are here to HAVE?

2. art/work/meaning/purpose;
What is it you are here to DO?

3. FULL Rock Star, bells and whistles and fireworks, expression;
Who is it you are here to BE?

Your show has a stage, it has characters, it has costumes, it has a storyline, it has a set list, a soundtrack;
And it has a very limited time window in which it can be performed, and make its mark.

It’s showtime.

I know, I know!
And Hell Yes!
We’d ALL choose being the nice, sociable, comfi, Sunday school version of our real selves, when given the choice.

But trust me when I tell you;
There is no choice.

You either are, or you are not.
And you are.

There is no easy way to break the news, so I’ll serve it raw and bloody.

The entire world, including all things in it, tangible and intangible, are tailored to people who are wired in an ENTIRELY AND BY ALL ROCK STAR STANDARDS COMPLETELY SOPHOCATING AND NOT IN A CHOKE-HOLD ME WHEN YOU TAKE ME BUT A SUCKING THE LIFE OUT OF EVERY ORIPHICE KIND OF WAY

So no matter how hard you:
Try to make this world your own.
Accommodate.
Understand.
Adapt.
Bend.

The sinking feeling that something is horrible wrong will never be going away and will only get worse over time.
The end of the story is you’ll blow something up.
And with your blatantly obvious ability and willingness to not make this other people’s problem, this will mean you’ll blow up yourself.

Either you’ll kill the essence of who you are, by destroying your creative work or an object, social media account, files, or whatever, which is symbolic for your Rock Star Self.
Anything from setting it on fire, to simply turning your back and no longer showing up.

Or you will destroy something in your life;
That one relationship that made you feel vibrantly alive, euphoric even.
Destroy your consciousness by drugs and addictions of any kind.
Your sanity, by willingly opening the doors, of your own mind or your real life, to the deepest, darkest souls and demons  out there, in order to be consumed by them.

You will sacrifice your life to ugliness, in a desperate but I suspect successful attempt to let your mental inside to be as shattered and messed up, and devoid of beauty, as now your life outside is.

Shallow, meaningless and artificial.

Or, alternatively, you embrace your Rock Star powers for what they truly are, and for the very purpose they were given to you.

To rule the world.

And you will never need to regulate, plan, or fuss over, anything in your life ever again.

You’ll just jump right in, and wing it.

What if I told you the secret to being a Rock Star entrepreneur, artist, or even parent or employee?
And that although it is not easy, once I tell you;
You’ll know what to aim for!

It is to use chaos, pushback, mass, size, uncertainty and movement, as the very fuel of everything you do.

In Tantra there are lineages referred to as the Tantra of the Left Hand.
They did not choose the name, it was given to them by people of Tantra of the clean right hand.
Left Hand people do not separate between left and right or good and bad.

Left Hand Tantra is associated with the fierce Goddess Kali, and with rituals on cremation grounds.
It is (of course) associated with sex, but definitely not with the Sunday School version of Tantric sex for couples, we have seen rising in the west.

The main point this Tantra makes (as I have come to understand it) is that there is no good or bad.
But that as far as there is?
The bad is more powerful, more potent.
The fierce, is more powerful.

The quickest way to Enlightenment is not the rejection of darkness, but its full embrace.

A far less intimidating idea that can be derived from that;
Instead of running away from everything that goes “wrong” in your life?
Embrace it, with a fearless heart.

Open your mouth, stick out your tongue, spread your arms, eat, welcome in, the chaos.

Or even simply;
Feel the tremendous energy of all you thought was tense and difficult.

Your fiercest Self can not just handle this;
They need it to thrive.

it’s time to get the basics in place

And I don’t mean kicking your own butt because if you have not been doing what you very well know you should be doing;
Deeper powers are at play.

Your willpower is there to move your fired up, ready to rock,  Self forward!

But your enemies, whether internal or external sabotage;
Require a battle plan.

I am not sure when I will break my silence about this, but probably sooner rather than later, I will tell you what happened.
What it was that has pulled the rug from underneath me, after a lifetime of peace, pleasure and privilege.
All of which were even more brittle and more special than I already, gratefully, acknowledged they had been.
I had never taken them for granted.

However it took until it all fell apart, both from parts of my life no longer functioning as well as an unnamed feeling of misery and despair, all accompanied by a steady stream of widely varying health complaints,  from which years of sleep deprivation must have been the most undermining one, that I realized my whole life prior to that?
Had been a blessing of the highest order.

I had done nothing.
And I had received, everything.
Until something stopped working, but it wasn’t visible on the outside.

Yet everything had changed.
I am no longer the person I used to be.
She’s gone.

Now, on the cusp of getting my health and myself back, I can reflect and let the lessons sink in, of which there are many.
But the most important one is;
Don’t force yourself into doing something. Not even into chasing your dreams. The only work that can be successfully, is the one flowing out of you.

Now, I am defining “work” in an unconventional way here!
I mean:
What you do with the hours you can choose.

There can be many reason why we force ourselves to do work that pays us, even when it comes at the expense of having to sacrifice many things that are important to us.
I am not saying that is healthy, but it is an entirely different conversation.

What I mean is this;
Do not, in the hours that you have to devote yourself to the things that matter, MAKE yourself chase your dreams.

Instead get into the full acknowledgement that you are not, and that if those are really your dreams?
Well;
Then something is very, very wrong.

Imagine that you’re head over heels in love with someone, and simultaneously it is a tremendously busy time at your job.
You STILL make time to connect with that special someone.
Hell or high water.

That’s how it is with you and your dreams, and you know that.
You are naturally inclined to chase them, just like you are magnetically drawn to people you are in love with.

When you are healthy, as I have been the majority of my life, being happy, energetic, excited and doing the work (and “chasing” the people!) you have a passion for, is abso-fuckin’-lutely effortless!!!!

It does not require:
Planning.
Journaling.
Vision boarding.
Therapy.
Coaching.
An expert.
Drugs.
Emotionally regulating yourself.

It does not even require chocolate, and that is saying something because practically all things require chocolate 😉

Chasing, living, building your life, when you’re feeling good, does not require ANYTHING!
And it gives you everything.

So if you are not doing that, stop beating yourself up over it. Immediately. Starting now.
And acknowledge that something has been undermining your “efforts” (which should not have been efforts), undermining your life.

You have, an enemy.

External or internally; Something or someone requires you to stand up for yourself.
Your existence is under threat, physically, financially, or emotionally.

After acknowledging your life is indeed at stake, your task is to come up with a plan on how you are going to tackle that.
What are your resources?
Who are your allies?
Who have fought the same war, and might be willing to be your advisor or spokesperson?
Come up, with a real battle plan.

Once that is in place, your final step is to decide on the timeslots you’re taking time off from thinking or fussing about it.
To win your time back.
Your mind, your thoughts.

Even if 99% of your life is unchanged;
That 1% that you can now see as separate, that one moment where you can just breath and be, with yourself.
That is you, getting your basics in place.

And then you can reconquer your life from there.
